Anledningen till att jag frågar är att min kemilärare sade att det inte funkar med en offeranod på bil, för att elektrolyten saknas.

Föroreningar i luften bidrar även det till elektrolyten.
Du kan fråga din sk. Kemilärare vad som händer på bilar med Aluminiumkaross när man använder järnskruvar/nitar.

ja..440/460 bakre skärmkanter är det bästa...om man ska ta från gamla framskärmar från 480 så är det ett j**la pill att få det bra....jag rekomenderar 440/460 skärmkanter men dom måste modifieras lite men det är inget speciellt svårt...vi använde det på min och det funkade bra...

Hej nu ska jag byta på min -87a och hadde tänkt använda "kanterna" från 440/460 å ja kikade på länken men ja förstod inte riktigt vad som gjordes?... om man tog bort den övre delen av skärmkanten? eller??

jag har även tänkt ta ner "kopangarn" (som en kär vän til mig säger) bak å jag e rädd att det är ganska mycket "norsk krom" på denna å då undrar jag pm de finns å köpa kofångarbalken ny?

Skärmkanterna bak toll 440/460 passar nästan rakt av, du märker hur man får klippa till dom.

Balken bak kostar drygt en tusenlapp och ska enligt utsago finnas hemma (Volvo)

Har någon av er bytt skärmar förut ??? låter på er som att det bara ar att svetsa dit och bam! så har man nya fina skärmkanter som ser helt ut som orginal. Men så är det dock inte, det är skitsvårt att få till alla ojämneter m.m som blir när man skär bort den gamla kanten. Lika fint och symetriskt som orginal kanterna blir det alldrig, det kvittar hur proffsig man är.
Men det är erat val, men själv skulle jag aldrig byta ut hela skärmkanter för lite småprickar.

Rost går att bekämpa det handlar helt och hållet på hur nogran man är.

För att svara på Pelles tidigare fråga så är det bakskärmarna till 440/460 som finns att köpa men längden på dem stämmer inte rakt av. Sen så är det skit dålig plåt i dem, bytte mina skärmkanter förra sommaren på min 88 och där jag inte fick på ordentligt med färg har de redan börjat rosta.

Det är A och O att rostskydda ordentligt efter svetsarbeten i en kaross. Efter svetsning och utbyte av plåt är det mycket sällsynt att man erhåller lika bra rostskydd som när bilen tillverkades där man lagat - det kommer nästan alltid komma tillbaka, OM man inte sett till att syre och fukt INTE kan komma in emellan.

Själv modifierade jag en rostskyddsspruta (en sådan där med slang för att spruta in rostskydd i balkar och dylikt) så att jag kunde spruta en 2K epoxyrostskyddsgrundfärg innanför lagningen före påläggning av rostskydd typ dinitrol. Många tror att det räcker med dinitrol innanför men det gör det inte. Man måste komma till så att rostskyddsfärg kommer på plats.

Personligen tror jag inte att ekomoniplåtarnas material är så mycket sämre, det är behandlingen av plåten efteråt som brister och då är det lätt att skylla på "dålig" plåt. Det är ju, om man tänker efter lite, väldigt svårt för tillverkarna av ekonomiplåt att rostskydda eller galvanisera en plåt som man vet kommer svetsas i...

Jag lämnar iaf bort mitt jobb till en i stan som är fruktat duktig med plåt. Rosten tar ju definitivt längre tid på sig att komma tillbaka om man bytar hela kanten, föräldrarnas 480 rostlagades 97-98, den har inte visat minsta tendens till bubblor i skärmarna hittills. Uppenbarligen ordentligt rostskyddat. Till skillnad från min bil som hellackades av föregående ägare och enbart slipades i skärmkanterna, så när jag tog över bilen en vinter efter lack o då var bubblorna redan där. Troligen dåligt rostskyddat, vilket leder mig till nästan del.
Oavsett metod så tycker inte jag det blir riktigt snyggt om man inte lackar hela skärmen efteråt. O en lackning på hela skärmen kostar iaf inte jag på mig ifall den ska komma tillbaks inom snar framtid. Jag vill ha garanterad frisk plåt som grund innan jag lackar om.

Har för mig att jag kollade hur en fram till bakskärm skulle passa och kom fram till at det var en helt annan böj på framskärmarna.

..har hört talas om att det skall gå att använda plåt från 440 med lite mod. och tålamod, var även inne lite på att ta från GOLF då dessa breddar lite...men det kanske inte går alls....eller??

440/460 går bra om man byter tillräckligt tidigt. Men de är lite korta framåt, så om rosten redan ätit sig för långt in där så kommer inte plåten från en 440 räcka till. Jag använde ekonomiplåt från Ford Escort mk III, fast jag skiftade sidorna (höger plåt på vä sida osv) och det funkade bra med ganska lite bearbetning.
